MMA PROJECTS IN "A NEW SCULPTURALISM" EXHIBITION AT MOCA'S GEFFEN CONTEMPORARY
Both local and international Michael Maltzan Architecture projects will be featured in the upcoming exhibition “A New Sculpturalism: Contemporary Architecture from Southern California” that will open at MOCA’s Geffen Contemporary in downtown Los Angeles on June 16. The exhibition highlights the work of more than 30 established and emerging Los Angeles architects who have been practicing over the past 25 years. Featured Michael Maltzan Architecture projects include: Inner-City Arts, New Carver Apartments, One Santa Fe, San Francisco State University Mashouf Performing Arts Center, MOMA-QNS and Ministructure No. 16 in Jinhua, China.
The exhibition, running from June 16 through September 16 is part of the Getty Museum’s “Pacific Standard Time: Modern Architecture in L.A.” series that celebrates Southern California’s unique contribution to modern and contemporary architecture. The series is comprised of nine exhibitions and accompanying programs and events in and around Los Angeles through Fall 2013.
