STAR APARTMENTS
HONORED WITH
LA BUSINESS COUNCIL
ARCHITECTURAL AWARD
Star Apartments, the most recent collaboration between MMA and the Skid Row Housing Trust, was recently honored with a 2015 Los Angeles Architectural Award from the Los Angeles Business Council. Each year, the LABC honors projects for both their aesthetic design vision and their contributions to the community. Star Apartments was just one of two City of L.A. Green Building award winners at the 45th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Award luncheon.
The affordable housing project in downtown Los Angeles provides 102 apartments to formerly homeless individuals and includes social services and community recreational facilities for residents. The building also includes an onsite medical clinic, a 15,000 square foot Health and Wellness Center, and the new headquarters of the LA County Department of Health Services’ (DHS) Housing for Health Division. Star Apartments was completed in 2014 and was recently featured in Architectural Record’s June issue.
