1600 Wilshire is a new, mixed-use residential building on an approximately 18,360 square-foot site in the Westlake neighborhood west of downtown Los Angeles. The building will provide 85 residential units including studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. The 7-story building will include a lobby and approximately 7,000 square feet of retail space on the ground level.
The building’s active and dynamic pedestrian-oriented facade along Wilshire Boulevard will complement the scale, materials, and context of the surrounding neighborhood. Individual residential towers are connected on the upper levels by outdoor walkways that maintain openness between the vertical volumes while allowing natural sunlight and fresh air to reach deep into the building. This natural light and ventilation, as well as views out to the surrounding neighborhood, will enhance the living experience for residents during the day and at night. Landscaped green terraces with trees and drought-resistant plantings on multiple floors will also add recreational spaces throughout the building to promote outdoor activities for residents.
